1. Who is responsible
RicoRune is provided by ArcVerk (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data processing that we determine for the game. Google and Unity also have responsibilities for their services, as explained below.
Contact: post@arcverk.no.
This policy covers the Android game. A website hosting this page may have separate hosting logs or cookies, which should be explained in that website’s privacy notice.
2. Data used by the game
The game stores progress and preferences on your device: scores, completion times, stars, unlocked levels, selected language, sound and vibration choices, control sensitivity and calibration. A local counter also determines when an advertising break is due.
The device’s motion sensor is used to control the ball and visual effects. Calibration saves a neutral tilt position locally. The game does not upload this sensor input or your scores to a game server.
You do not need to create an account or provide your name to play. The game does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera or precise GPS location. This does not prevent advertising services from estimating a general location from an IP address.
If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive information.
3. Google AdMob advertising
RicoRune uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to show full-screen ads between completed rounds. Google’s advertising services may process:
- IP addresses, which can indicate an approximate location;
- advertising, app-set and other applicable device or account identifiers;
- app and advertising interactions, such as launches, taps and video views;
- technical and diagnostic information about app and SDK performance.
These data support advertising, measurement, service operation and fraud prevention. The data and type of ads depend on your choices, device settings and applicable requirements. Google describes the SDK’s handling in its Mobile Ads data disclosure.
For Google’s own processing, see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps using its services. Advertisers or ad technology providers identified in the consent message may also receive information according to the choices and legal bases shown there.
4. Consent and privacy choices
The game uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to check the applicable privacy requirements at startup and display a consent message when required. It requests ads only when UMP reports that an ad request is permitted. This permission is not the same as agreeing to every advertising purpose.
You can change or withdraw consent through that screen where supported. Withdrawal applies going forward and does not undo processing that was lawful beforehand. Declining optional consent does not remove your game progress; limited ads may still be available where permitted. See Google’s UMP information.
You can also use Android’s advertising privacy controls to reset or delete the advertising ID. Google explains these controls in its advertising ID guidance. Visiting this page does not itself change in-game consent.
5. Unity technology and purchases
The game is built with Unity. Unity Ads is not the advertising service used in this version. The game explicitly disables consent for Unity’s optional advertising and analytics uses, separately from Google’s advertising choices.
Unity engine diagnostics are enabled in the current project configuration. Where the connected Unity service is active, technical reports can include an installation-specific identifier and diagnostic information used to investigate stability and errors. This is separate from optional advertising and analytics consent. Unity acts as our processor for this diagnostics service. See Unity’s Diagnostics privacy overview and Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
In-app purchases are disabled in the version described by this policy. The game does not currently initiate a purchase or collect payment-card details. If purchases are enabled in a later version, this policy will be updated to explain store and purchase-verification data before that change takes effect.
6. Why data are processed
Local saves and sensor input provide the gameplay and settings you request. Advertising supports the game and uses the purposes and legal bases disclosed in the applicable consent message. Where consent is required for advertising storage, access or personalisation, that processing depends on your consent.
We use correspondence to respond to your request and handle privacy matters. Where European data-protection law applies, this is based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or on our legal obligations when handling statutory requests.
Legal basis for any enabled Unity diagnostics: [CONFIRM THE APPLICABLE LEGAL BASIS AND EXPLAIN IT, OR DISABLE DIAGNOSTICS AND UPDATE THIS POLICY]. Google’s advertising consent does not grant consent for unrelated Unity processing.
8. Keeping and protecting data
Local game data remain until you remove the app’s storage or uninstall it, subject to your device’s backup and restore settings. Clearing storage also removes progress, records and calibration. It does not automatically erase information already held by Google or Unity.
We keep support correspondence only for as long as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable legal or dispute-handling requirements. Google applies retention periods described in its retention information. Unity states that Diagnostics personal data are retained for 90 days by default; see its Diagnostics privacy overview.
Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data are encrypted in transit using TLS. No system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and avoid including unnecessary personal information in support requests.
9. Children and age-related settings
RicoRune is intended for players aged 13 and older. It is not intended for children under 13.
The game does not include an age-verification or parental-consent flow. Ordinary advertising consent is not a substitute for any parental consent required by law. If you believe a child’s information has been processed improperly, contact us so we can investigate and address the request with the relevant provider.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain advertising-related sharing. You can contact us using the details below. We may need proportionate information to verify your request.
We cannot retrieve local-only game saves from a remote server. For service-provider records, we will explain the relevant route and assist with requests that we are responsible for, including Unity diagnostics requests where applicable.
You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. For information about European rights, see the European Commission’s guidance; in Norway, the supervisory authority is Datatilsynet.
11. Changes and contact
We will update this page if the game’s data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated as required, and new consent will be requested where necessary.
For questions or privacy requests, contact post@arcverk.no, with “RicoRune privacy” in the subject line.
This page explains the game’s practices; it does not replace the privacy choices shown inside the game.
